Walking Conditions: Flat on paved access road, Flat on old hard packed rock rail line, sloped and grassy if you venture off road or rail line
Directions: From The Island Savings Centre Library-turn left on James Street to Island High Way, turn right approx 3.8 km turn left on Cowichan Bay Road approx. 1.6km to STOP sign-turn left on Tsouhalem Road approx 100m cross small bridge 25m and turn right on to the Assembly Access Road for 200m-park in area by first Gate
Cautions: Stay on designated trails or roads-Open area dress accordingly-If they are loading a container ship there will be heavy trucks using the road, but normally they do not use the road on weekends
Features: Long wide spit in the Cowichan Estuary-brush, flooded grass lands, open water
