Walking Conditions: flat with packed gravel to packed crushed - slippery slope if you venture to the river, packed forest paths with some roots and rocks
Directions: From north: 0.0 Hwy 1 and Hwy 18. Take Hwy 18 westbound. 15.3 km. Turn left onto Cowichan Lake Road Connector then left onto Cowichan Lake Road (about 100m), at 17.3 km turn right onto Stoltz Road for 18.4 km. Turn left onto Riverbottom Road and go 20.0 km. Turn right into Stoltz Pool Provincial Park. Proceed to parking lot.
From Duncan: Northbound on Canada Avenue to round-about just past RCMP station. Take Sherman Road westbound. Continue on Sherman Road to round-about at Somenoes Road. 0.0 Continue westbound (Sherman Road becomes Lake Cowichan Road at round-about) to Tanzer gas station (Tempo) and around righthand curve. 3.6 Turn left on Lake Cowichan Road. 14.3 Turn left onto Stoltz Road. 15.4 Turn left onto Riverbottom Road. 17.0 turn right into Stoltz Pool Provincial Park. Proceed to parking lot.
Cautions: river banks and rocks very slippery, watch for roots and small rocks on forest paths - BEARS might be out, use common sense and always be with someone
