DESTINATION  Qualicum Beach Heritage Forest. Easy access and easy walking. What is nice is it fits the ’trees’ theme.

It is 50 archers saved by the community because of the old growth forest it has with-in. I have been told it is great for birding as well and all things forest. Apparently it is a great place to find the ghost pipe plant! This plant feeds off mycelium and uses no green in the plant (meaning it doesn’t use chlorophyl.) mycelium, incase you don’t know are the ‘roots’ from mushrooms that layer underground connecting to trees and each others like an underground network.

 It is near town centre and restaurants as well. You can park in town and walk over or park at the trail.
